WORK /

/ PLAY

The history of the phrase “Work / Play” goes back to the marketing brief for the original agency that worked on the Gatehouse brand, lost in the mists of time. It has become so synonymous with the brand that sometimes people think it is the name of the company.

The agency were amazed… they had never seen a company where people enjoyed their work so much. People who liked their work and each other’s company so much that work seemed like play.

Thus the juxtaposition was born.

It’s the epitome of the Gatehouse experience: doing the best job we can, while having the most fun we can.

To quote a famous Englishman: “A friend once told me you choose whether your life is a comedy or a tragedy. Me? I prefer to have a laugh.”

So do we.
