It was very heavy hearts that we have to wish another family close to Gatehouse condolences. Gail Behr, the owner and manager of The Dorp Hotel and force of nature, passed away last night. Bev and Gail took an instant like to each other many years ago and thus started a wonderful friendship with mutual respect, roast chicken, glasses of wine and much laughter.
Gail’s life was fraught with tragedy, but you would never know from speaking to her. The person that felt least sorry for Gail, was Gail. She tackled each day and each project with boundless enthusiasm and very very seldom was thwarted. She inculcated love and adoration in the people that met her and your day was always better for having seen her.
We wish her family long life. Baruch dayan ha’emet.
