RED’s new Mysterium sensor

Local company REDoneAfrica has fitted all of their RED cameras with the new Mysterium sensor. This means that Cape Town is up to speed with the latest in digital film-making. The Mysterium is a 12MP CMOS sensor that allows you to operate at 4k and gives you the ability to digitally film in very low light. The clip below shot as a test by David Fincher was lit with the match that Leo di Caprio uses to light his cigar.

It’s just unbelievable how sensitive this sensor is.
